Ford Puma will be a 100% vehicle manufactured in Romania. It will be produced in Craiova at the same time as the first SUV introduced by Ford in Craiova, model EcoSport.
Ford Puma will also have a hybrid version. Thus, Ford Puma becomes the first hybrid car to be produced in Romania.
The company did not give details about future concomitant production, nor about production volume or starting price. All this data will be released at the launch of the production, which will take place in the autumn.
“Available in the seven-speed automatic gearbox, the Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, Speed Sign Recognition and Mid-Center Centering help the vehicle maintain a comfortable driving distance compared to the front passenger cars. The system also helps to reduce stress during long journeys, keeping the vehicle centered on its treadmill and adjusting the vehicle’s speed within legal limits by monitoring road signs. This is in addition to the information available through the on-board navigation system, “Ford informs.
Ford EcoBoost Hybrid technology will optimize Puma’s fuel efficiency and a 155-horsepower power peak. An integrated belt drive starter / generator (BISG) replaces the classic alternator, enabling the recovery and storage of energy that is typically lost during braking and free running, the carmaker informs. Thus, the system charges a 48-volt air-cooled lithium-ion battery pack.
Torque replacement contributes to anticipated CO2 emissions from 123 g / km and a consumption level of 5.4 l / 100 km for the 125 hp variant.
There will also be anticipated emissions from 124 g / km and consumption from 5.4 l / 100 km for the 155 hp. The second strategy involves adding the torque, which puts the BISG into operation.
The Ford Puma was built on the Fiesta platform, but it is longer about 50 centimeters.
