The official explained that, in order to reach the proposed goal for 2026, the scrapping bonus has been increased, and in 2022 a maximum amount of 16,500 lei can be reached if the beneficiary will hand over scrapping two cars, both older than 15 years. It will also benefit from the premium of 3,000 lei for hybrid or 1,500 lei for low CO2 emissions.
The 2022 Incetives:
The 2022 case of the “Rabla Plus” program, those who opt for a 100% electric or hybrid Plug-in car can benefit from the following types of vouchers: an eco-ticket of 20,000 lei (~4000 eur) for the purchase of a new hybrid Plug-in car with emissions CO2 less than or equal to 78 g CO2 / km in WLTP mode (with the mandatory condition of scrapping an old car); an eco-ticket of 23,000 lei (~4500 eur), for the purchase of a new plug-in hybrid car with CO2 emissions less than or equal to 78 g CO2 / km in WTLP mode (with the mandatory condition of scrapping two old cars); an eco-ticket of 45,000 (~9000 eur) lei for the purchase of a 100% electric car, with the obligatory condition of scrapping an old car; an eco-ticket of 48,000 (~10 0000 eur) lei for the purchase of a 100% electric car, with the obligatory condition of scrapping two old cars.
Also, an eco-bonus of 1,500 lei can be granted for each used vehicle that is older than 15 years and has a pollution rate of Euro 3 or lower.
According to AFM data, in 2021, the age of the Romanian fleet was 16.8 years, while in 2010 it was less than 10 years old.
