Renault will bring to Europe the K-ZE model. Under DACIA badge and rebranded as Spring the new car is an electric SUV that looks urban and it comes with good mileage.

The ELECTRIC DACIA is a compact crossover. But don’t let that distract you from the fact that this is the most spacious SUV in the segment. Interior layout is so perfect and the cabin comes with the generous room. Whatsoever, thanks to its 95.4-inch wheelbase, the ELECTRIC DACIA offers class-leading figures.

That includes 10.6 cubic feet of luggage room. With these figures, the ELECTRIC DACIA easily beats the rest of its class rivals such as Smart, Mini, Fiat, e-Up! and other VAG EVs.  However, we are pretty sure that Renault will provide a five-star safety rating. The compact electric SUV will arrive with rear parking sensors and a rearview camera as standard. Also, it will feature numerous driver-assistance features and safety aids.

The ELECTRIC DACIA will arrive with an electric motor and a battery pack. We are still waiting for more specific details about the electric drivetrain. However, we expect the traction wheel to be at the back of the car, the electric motor mounted on the rear axle with a single-speed gearbox that makes 80 horsepower and 118 pound-feet of torque, the same as the Smart. It compares favorably with the top-level gas engine in the DACIA SANDERO, a turbocharged inline-three making 91 horsepower and 100 pound-feet of torque. Where the ELECTRIC DACIA most important is price differs is in battery capacity. We expect its battery to be 21.3 kWh of usable charge. This translates to a range of between 102 and 143 miles of range.

This isn’t such an impressive figure, but DACIA will surely provide at least 150 miles on a single charge. That is more than enough to beat the rivals in its class. The charging system is compatible with domestic plugs and public chargers. The domestic plug will charge the battery in four hours. However, public chargers are faster and more recommendable.

Avaliability will be at the beginning of 2021 with a starting price of 15 000 EUR.
