Turkish manufacturer Bozankaya has entered several auctions in Romania, including the one for 51 electric buses in four cities , where he competes with producers such as Alstom and Sor. Bozankaya is also the only bidder in the tender for 100 trolleybuses in Bucharest .

Bozankaya was established as a research and development company in Germany in 1989. In 2003, the company expanded to Turkey, where it started with 20 employees. It currently has about 1,000 employees, including nearly 100 engineers at its R & D center in Ankara.

In addition to Ankara’s research and development center, the company now has three factories in Turkey and one in Germany, where trains, trams, electric buses and trolleybuses are produced.

The last factory, 100,000 square meters, was opened in 2018 in Sincan industrial area on the outskirts of Ankara with an investment of 50 million euros.

The company produced in 2014 the first fully electric bus in Turkey, the Sileo brand. Also, in June 2018, Bozankaya became, thanks to its collaboration with Siemens, the first Turkish company to export subway trains to Bangkok, Thailand.
