Investments of up to EUR 20 million for the installation of 2,500 EV Charging Stations

Enel X Romania, a member of Enel Group Enel X, the Enel Group's advanced energy service division, has launched the largest infrastructure development plan for electric mobility in the country. The plan aims at installing around 2,500 loading points in all regions of Romania in the period 2019-2023, following a total investment of 15 to 20 million euros.

Enel X Romania is committed to offering electric vehicle owners and fleets the opportunity to travel across the country, from north to south and from east to west, without worrying about where to find the next charging point. With this ambitious plan to develop an extensive load infrastructure over the next five years, we will contribute to cleaner and more sustainable transport across Romania, "said Marius Chiriac, Director of Enel X Romania.

The first loading points will be installed in 2019 in Bucharest, Timisoara and Constanta. The plan covers all areas of Romania so that the positioning and installation of the charging infrastructure is adapted to the increased use of electric vehicles at the level of households, institutions, and companies as a result of fleet demand. According to Marius Chiriac , 300 charging stations will be installed in 2019 .

Three quarters will be 22 kW stations and a quarter fast and ultrafast stations. We will have charging stations installed in Bucharest, Constanta and Timisoara in the first part of next year, "said the director of Enel X Romania.

Enel X Romania will provide the charging infrastructure installation service to Reload Partners, such as shopping centers, supermarkets, restaurants and hotels that want to attract electric vehicle users. The installation and maintenance of the charging infrastructure does not entail costs for the Recharging Partners in return for the provision of parking spaces.

The infrastructure to be developed in Romania is based on the intelligent, intelligent boot solutions of the Enel X global division. These are modular, scalable, deliverable turnkey equipment to individual consumers, companies and institutions. Installation of stations with power of 22 kW (Quick), 50 kW (Fast) and over 150 kW (Ultrafast) is provided.
