Kaufland Romania brings the first electric car to a national rally championship

Kaufland Romania sends an electric car to compete in a national rally championship for the first time in history, the desire to support zero-emission mobility and promote environmental care. Kaufland Romania's electric car will compete at the Dunlop Coastal National Speed ​​Championship 2018, organized under the aegis of the Romanian Federation of Automotive Sports (FRAS). The competition calendar begins with the first stage, which will be held on 21 and 22 April in Rasnov and ends on October 14, 2018.

The VW Golf GTI will be driven by pilot Sorin Ghisoi - rally national champion. To comply with the technical rules imposed by the competition sponsored by FRAS, the car will undergo a transformation process. Its approval will be obtained by the end of May, in order to compete in the stage that will be held on 9-10 June 2018 in Poiana Brasov.

In addition, Kaufland Romania is launching a contest that offers the chance to take the right wing of Sorin Ghisoi pilot at the stage of April 21-22, in which the electric car will participate as a "road opener".

The contest will take place on the Facebook Kaufland Romania page starting Saturday, April 14, 2018, 10:00 and Sunday, 15.04.2018, 23:59 .

Also, those interested can watch the YouTube Kaufland Romania channel to see exclusively video images during the training, racing and making of the transformation process of the electric car in a racing, unpacking and carving machine, technical preparation, technical verification, and the process of improving machine performance.

Throughout the competition, Kaufland Romania will organize various events for the general public who will want to encourage the Kaufland e-Rally Team.

We are next to the Kaufland e-Rally Team in the drive to promote the use of electric cars as a means of eco-driving. This is not our first initiative in this regard. We launched in 2016 the first public network of fast-paced electric power stations in Romania, which we made available to everyone free of charge.
